The Booked on Planning Book Summit is intended to bring together urban, city, and regional planners, allied professionals, and book enthusiasts to hear from authors and publishers on literature related to the profession and the publishing process. This day and a half event will feature presentations from authors on their recent publications, publishers on the process to get a book from idea to print, and a walking tour of nearby attractions. The book summit will provide the opportunity to engage with attendees and presenters, network, share ideas, earn continuing education credits and explore the city of Charlottesville.

Registration
Registration is now open. Registration rates for the summit are below which includes a day and a half of sessions with continuing education credits offered, Monday lunch and happy hour, Tuesday light breakfast and a conference swag item:

9:30 am - 10:30 Welcome/5 Years of Booked on Planning
10:45 am - 11:45 am: Conor Harrison author of Brokers of Power

12:30 pm - 1:30 pm: Ali Fard author of Grounding the Cloud: Urbanism in the Shadow of Data
1:45 pm - 2:45 pm: Publisher Panel on the publishing process from a trade, university, and non-profit press perspective
3-5 pm: Walking Tours
Choose between one of two walking tour options

Tour of the downtown pedestrian mall (requires a 20 minute walk to start, then approximate 1 hour walking tour, 20 minute return walk to hotel)

Tour of the UVA campus (less than 10 minute walk to start of tour, ends near the evening lecture on campus)

11:00 am - 12:00 pm: live recording podcast with Ebony Walden author of Where I’m From: A Poetic Journey Across Five Continents

Visit our On Site Bookstore
During breaks attendees will have the opportunity to shop at the Stone Soup Books mobile bookstore to buy copies of the books our authors are presenting on during the day as well as browse a selection of related books.

CM Credits pending on all sessions. Anticipating 8 CM credits available for the event.

There are two room blocks set aside for the event at the hotels below. Parking and breakfast are not included, but the summit includes a light breakfast on Tuesday.
